Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use TryBooking for free?

Yes. TryBooking is completely free for free events - there are no hidden charges, and you still get access to all our features.

For paid events, we only charge a small fee when you sell tickets. You can choose to pass this fee on to your ticket purchasers, letting you use TryBooking at no cost to you.

What events can I run using TryBooking?

TryBooking is designed to support a wide range of events - big or small, free or paid. You can use our event ticketing platform to sell tickets online for any event, whether that’s a theatrical performance, school play, charity fundraiser or another great event idea.

How much does it cost to use TryBooking?

There are no setup fees, contracts or additional fees for features.

Free events are totally free to run. For paid tickets:

Do I need to setup anything upfront?

No – with built-in payments, you can start selling tickets immediately.

If you want to use Stripe, we’d recommend connecting this before starting ticket sales. If you sell tickets before you’ve setup your Stripe account, these will be added to your TryBooking account balance and need to be withdrawn separately.

Can I sell tickets in person for my events?

Yes, our Tap To Pay Box Office app makes it easy to take payments for and issue tickets in person. You can accept payments via cash or contactless card payment, without requiring any additional hardware.

Does TryBooking offer real local support?

Yes, we offer award winning UK based support via phone, email and live chat.

You can also access online support from our Learning Centre, which has step-by-step guides on using all our features and tutorials for the most common event setups.

How do I get paid for tickets sold?

If you’re using our built in payments, funds (minus any fees you’ve chosen to cover as the event organiser) will be added to your TryBooking account balance once you’ve started selling tickets.

To withdraw funds, simply add a UK bank account. We’ll send a small verification amount before you can request a transfer.

If you are using Stripe, funds will be automatically deposited into your Stripe account, minus our ticket fee and any Stripe fees.

Do you offer discounted pricing for non profits?

We believe running events should be affordable for everyone. That’s why we keep our fees low for all event organisers, including charities, PTAs, and other non profits.

To help maximise your fundraising, you can choose to pass our low processing fees on to ticket buyers - allowing your non profit to use TryBooking at no cost.

Is TryBooking a Stripe partner for event ticketing?

Yes, TryBooking is an official Stripe Verified Partner for event ticketing.

This means you can easily integrate your existing Stripe account with TryBooking, allowing you to receive and manage your ticket sales in your existing setup.

Do I need Stripe to use TryBooking?

No, you don’t need a Stripe account to take payments through TryBooking. Our standard fees include full payment processing.

If you wish to receive payments directly to your bank account, you can connect your TryBooking account to Stripe to receive payments directly into your Stripe account. When using Stripe, we charge a flat 75p ticket fee.

How secure is the site?

TryBooking is fully compliant with industry-leading security protocols to protect your data.

All stored data is encrypted using industry-standard encryption algorithms, and we are fully PCI-compliant for payment security. We never store full credit card details - only the last four digits are retained for reference.
